Sad Sweetpea & My Apologies

I am sorry I have been so quiet and well..gone. I so very much appreciate all of your comments and following of my work. I am back to have some fun and hope that life doesn't get in the way again..at least for a bit ;)

Please let me know what you think about

"Sad Sweetpea"

A vintage doll face form altered and added to a 5x5 canvas. This piece took way longer to adhere and alter than you might imagine.

Sad Sweetpea just wanted to play with the others but was destined to be stuck in one spot.
No fun at all.

Proud Creepy Cupcake Papa's!!

A wonderfully sweet collector of my creepy kids has purchased a few as birthday gifts for some of the guys in her tattoo shop who seemed to enjoy the 1st one they saw! She was kind enough to snap some pics and share.

True Proud Papas of their very own Creepy Cupcake Kids!

Yes, I am still here, don't worry more creepy's to come! I am just further behind than I would care to be. I will send you all preview emails when they are ready.

What's in the works..?

Here is what I have been slowly designingfor the CCK's

For those who have signed up for the preview list I will give you a heads up when the timing is right before any listing or posts.

My 9-5 workload has been large lately and therefor that inerupts my time creating the lil creepy's! I appreciate your patience and do hope to have a few done within next few days.

I have come across some very unique doll heads in the last few weeks and have big plans! New styles coming that should be a hit.
I came across another head that allows me to construct the Baby Maraca's! In theory it seems like a simple construction but in reality it is only easy if the doll has a particular design to it. Luckily I found another one!

So, keep a look out for:

1 Baby Maraca- I have had soo many orders for these but just cannot do it yet. Need a better suplier
1 Large Baby Head Halloween trick or Treat JOL pail-sooo cool!
2 cute and creepy straight cupcakes
1 poseable full size creepy that also stands!

ok, that is enough hints for now...wish me luck! And stay tuned. Hope you are pleased with the next batch.

Hugz

Art Doll's Only Challenge

So we are in the process of finishing a fun challenge from the challenge committee of ADO - Art Dolls Only.

We were challenged to create Ellen Degeneres in our style. Insert-Uber evil laugh here!!

I signed up because I knew it would be a challenge which is always good for an artist but also I can appreciate anyone who does not take themselves too seriously and clearly Ellen does not.

So here is "MY" eerie ellen!

Dirty Dollop!

"Dirty Dollop" Creepy Cupcake Kid Bust

This sweet lil confection is known as "Dirty Dollop". This is a lil switch on my Creepy Cupcake kids by flipping the cupcake papers and making him a cupcake bust. Dirty Dollop is a carnival inspired vintage head with polka dot papers and loads of crackle. Gorgeous black ragged trim detail on the base, finished with a dirty lil dollop of cream.
~Mmmm Mmm good~

Such A Wonderful Surprise!!

While googling, I accidently found a blog that did a feature on one of my Creepy Cupcake kids! Can you believe it?

It is a blog totally dedicated to cupcakes...real ones that is! It seems that the lovely blogger who featured my creepy confectionery is a writer & creator of/for food magazines and has basically dedicated her life in the pursuit of thee best cupcakes!

She has a huge following but the best part is the ONE comment that was left about my creepy cupcake kid is PRICELESS and totally made my day!
I sold my last Creepy Cupcake Kid today and have plans for more so stay tuned.
Too funny, who knew?

Sacreligious Scarlett

Sweetly Sacrilegious Scarlett is a true wonder of the unnatural world. She is the daughter of thee "harlet" who was forced to wear the insignia of THE SCARLET LETTER. Her mother named her Scarlett (The extra T was for the Trouble she would surely endure do to the circumstances of her birth).

DAG Challenge Piece

I joined March's mini challenge which was a Tombstone Ornament Swap!! I do not know who I am swapping with but I think that is part of the fun! This is a polymer sculpt with a poseable skull-head, doll parts & vintage text.

Vintage text reads:
Ghastly Organic Matter, cruel, brutal, cold-blooded, savage, inhuman.

DAG is a new artist's guild dedicated to the darker arts. I am enjoying being a member and all of the friendly people.

Creepy Cupcake CHICK!!

1st chickie in the creepy cupcake series, isn't she just the sweetest?
Rumored to be the spawn of the Frankensteins!

Dolly Departed

Dolly Departed Art Doll
Snowed in today with the family and spent some time tinkering with this new dolly. I enjoyed making this sweet zombified baby doll named 'Dolly Departed".
Each time I finish a doll I tie a string of black vintage satin seam binding around their heads and hang them from the chandelier in my studio. I love looking up from my desk and love seeing them looking back at me.

Carni, new chickie on the blog.

So, here I am.... frightening! Although, I have watched from the blogger sidelines for sometime and have a good understanding of it, this is the 1st time I have allowed myself to explore this end of my interests. You see I often am locked down with specific artistic duties and commitments. So to branch out and to create just for me, and my interests, whenever I feel like it..is so liberating! I feel like I am hiding away, a bit, which is fun. Being slightly naughty always is :)

Carnival Kin

"Carnival Kin"

This lil sweetie is my first piece on Etsy.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my usual workings but it seems I have found myself caught up in the more commercial end of my art and that I can do without. To create with little or no regard for the acceptance of others is real art for me. So, alas I have taken back some time and space for my dark and dreary, lovelies.

~I look forward to discovering & meeting many of you out there~
